Dr. Oz Sugar Substitutes – Umeboshi Plums, Banana Puree, Canned Pumpkin
When your on Diet Dr. Oz often says that it’s important to still eat foods that you enjoy. You will be more likely to stick with your diet when you don’t feel deprived. However, you don’t want to keep eating the foods that are making you gain weight though right? Today Dr. Oz gave some great tips on how you can make food and sugar substitutes in your diet from some some of the foods that you enjoy the most!
Substitute Canned Pumpkin For Butter
I have never thought of this, but I think it sounds like a great idea! Dr. Oz gave the tip of replacing butter with organic canned pumpkin. Dr. Oz loves fiber, and just one cup of canned pumpkin has 7 grams of fiber and is quite low in fat. The next time you are making a recipe that asks for butter, substitute 1/2 of the butter that is calls for with 1/2 pumpkin. You can make all kinds of food with canned pumpkin like, cookies and even cake! Yum!
Sugar Substitute – Banana Puree
American LOVE to eat sugar. Then again, America also has an obesity problem right? Dr. Oz gave another great tip that I think I’m going to employ into my diet in the near future. He said to substitute 1/2 of the sugar in a recipe with some banana puree. This will lower the sugar content and also added fiber to the recipe.
