Sesame Oil Helps To Treat Constipation

Dr Oz Constipation Remedies

Constipation, that lovely complication that affects so many, but so few talk about.  Just because it may be a little embarrassing to talk about, doesn’t mean that it should go ignored.  Constipation can lead to serious problems if left untreated.  Today Dr. Oz talked about the best ways to treat constipation.

Dr Oz invited a woman to the stage and she said that she doesn’t remember the last time she wasn’t constipated.  Wow, I’ve had my moments, but my whole life?  I think I would have been searching for some solutions a long time.  Well, better late than never right?

Constipation Checklist

Are You Having Fewer Than Three Stools Per Week?  The woman who was on stage with Dr Oz said that on a good week only has one bowel movement per week.  Ouch…..

Are your stools hard and painful?  The woman immediately said yes to both.

Are you spending more time pushing than you are pooping? Once again she said yes.

Constipation Remedies

Sesame Oil

- Dr Oz suggests taking a shot of sesame oil once per day.  It stimulates the gut, is a lubricant, and also acts as a laxative.

Constipation Breakfast Bar

  • 1 Teaspoon of psyllium
  • 1/4 cup of raspberries
  • 1/4 cup of oat bran
  • 1 tablespoon of pumpkin seeds (high in magnesium, which can help you go)
  • Applesauce to bind

All four women who tried the constipation bars really liked them and thought they could eat one each morning.  All the ingredients look great to me.  I even like the psyllium that is in metamucil..

Yoga Move

Dr oz also did a yoga move where he had each woman lie on their back and hold their right leg up to their chest. Then rotate the leg in a circular motion. This can help you to relieve gas and also provide relief from constipation.
